23.2.1. Infinitives as Nouns
The infinitive can be used as a noun. In this case, the definite article is optional.
(Lo) mangîare verduras èst bòno por toa salute. | Eating vegetables is good for your health. |
This also applies when listing actions.
Son proibitos mangîare, bévere et córrere. | Eating, drinking and running are prohibited. |
23.2.2. The Infinitive as an Imperative
The infinitive can be used as an imperative in an impersonal context or instructions (manuals or computer programs).

The infinitive can have a rhetorical sense without the need for conjugation.
Per que cambiare las causas? | Why change things? |
Per que vàdere ad lo restaurante quando se pòte delivrare lo alimènto? | Why go to the restaurant when the food can be delivered? |
Per que preoccupare-se en digitare los datos manualmente quando lo computatore lo face automàticamente? | Why bother entering the data manually when the computer does it automatically? |
